Dr. Ezra Kopelowitz

CEO. A sociologist specializing Jewish education, Israel-Diaspora relations and Jewish Peoplehood.  Ezra is a pioneer in research on Jewish Peoplehood, developing intellectual frameworks and conducting applied research in the area. 

Ezra Kopelowitz is a sociologist specializing in the Jewish world and Jewish Education. 
Ezra's recent publications are the books, Building Jewish Peoplehood: Change and Challenge (2008, co-edited) and Cultural Education-Cultural Sustainability: Minority, Diaspora, Indigenous and Ethno-Religious Groups in Multicultural Societies (2008, co-edited).  He is also the author of a widely read position paper titled:  "A Framework for Strategic Thinking about Jewish Peoplehood" (2007).  For a list of Ezra's publications and cv, click here .
 
Debbie Perla

Director of Research Support Unit and Business Manager.  Debbie holds a law degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and worked for several years in the area of matrimonial and general civil law.  Prior to working at ReST , Debbie served as Executive Director to Mavoi Satum, a nonprofit organization serving women denied a divorce by their husbands.

Eitan Melchior

Research Associate.  Eitan Melchior is a graduate student in Sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, specializing in the study of Secularism and Quantitative Research Methods. He has broad experience in the world of education with a Bachelor's degree in Jewish education and Rabbinic ordination. Eitan served as Rosh Kollel in the Kansas City Community Kollel.

 
Stephen MarkowitzStephen Markowitz

Research Associate.  Stephen Markowitz is a Ph.D candidate at the Melton Centre for Jewish Education at the Hebrew University. He is a specialist in school change and in service training and professional development for educators, with over ten years of experience working with Jewish Day Schools in North America, Australia and South Africa. Stephen is the former Educational Director of Torah Mitzion and is also the former Director of the Jewish Agency's Machon Hadati.

Dalit Somer
Data Systems - Design and Programming. Dalit holds a BA in Political Science from Bar-Ilan University and a Programmer Analyst/Internet Solutions Developer Diploma from the CDI College of Business and Technology.  Dalit has been working in the areas of web development and programming since 2001 and has experience with ASP.NET, ASP, C#, VBScript, SQL, JavaScript, Photoshop and more.
 
Ari Gruen

Project Manager and Business Development.  Ari has a degree in Economics and Business from Yeshiva University.  Ari has been working in the area of project development for over 10 years, from implementation through management and completion.  Prior to joining the ReST team, Ari worked as a Project Manager at UB Access and the Q Group.
